What is a peptide?
Technically, a peptide is a shortened chain of what we know of as a protein. This short chain is made up of amino acids and acts as a signal for the building blocks of our DNA, genes, neural tissue and hormones. There are thousands of peptides that naturally occur in our body and each has its own source and function.
How are peptides being used?
As we age our hormones and proteins start to decline. Since we are living longer than ever before, we are seeing and feeling the decline and have accepted it as the “aging” process. But should we be living 50 plus years without our hormones, skin, muscles, or brain working to the best of our body’s ability? The answer is no, and we have seen this proven in the development of diabetes, heart disease, loss of muscle and strength, loss of bone support, decreasing memory and lack of energy to continue with our daily lives. The reality is, our body has the ability to stay strong and active, fight diseases, and allow us to WANT to live to a healthy 100 years old. Peptide therapy is allowing us to give the body its building blocks and support to safely keep our proteins and hormones at the levels it needs to fight off diseases and damage that occurs with life. Here at VitaHealth Wellness, we want to redefine the term “Aging” and make everyone live their best life at any age.
Are peptides safe?
There are currently over 200 peptides approved by the FDA and many more actively undergoing clinical trials for approval in the near future. Because peptide therapy is mimicking our natural peptide structure and is highly specific to support our own natural hormones, there is little side effects or adverse reactions to be concerned about.
